Upon receipt of a physicians order, Spectrum licensed Respiratory Care Practitioners provide instruction and education of respiratory disease processes as well as proper use of respiratory equipment. Spectrum also has trained delivery personnel to make deliveries to the home and a trained respiratory service technician to do repairs on various respiratory equipment.
Spectrum Medical Respiratory Care Practitioners:
- Assess oxygen, sleep apnea and tracheostomy patients on a regular basis - this is an opportunity to be responsive to patient questions, train and coach on breathing exercises, proper cough techniques, and personalize the patient’s respiratory needs.
- Assess the patient’s respiratory status and communicate with the patient and the patients Doctor to ensure the best possible therapy is being done and is effective for the patient.
- Provide continuous and overnight pulse oximetry for the Doctors to track their patients oxygen needs to ensure they are oxygenated accurately to provide the best possible outcome.
- Provide a home-based pulmonary program to assist the patient in learning to improve their level of activity with the goal to decrease shortness of breath, conserve energy, and pain management.
